Profile

Enno Cheng, a singer-songwriter, actress and writer.

Enno Cheng has released several solo albums, including Neptune, Pluto, Dear Uranus, and Mercury Retrograde, along with numerous theme songs for film and television. Her published works include the children’s book Badu’s Homework, the short story collection Fuck Up Club, and the essay collection The Way I Live in Solitude. She continues to create both music and writing, actively performing at major music venues across Taiwan.

In 2023, her album Mercury Retrograde won Best Taiwanese Album and Best Taiwanese Female Singer at the 34th Golden Melody Awards. That same year, her single “Golden” received the Best Alternative Pop Song award at the 14th Golden Indie Music Awards.

Also in 2023, she performed in a cross-gender role in the Mandarin-language production of the Broadway classic Hedwig and the Angry Inch, produced by Studio M, portraying the male character Yitzhak. In 2024, she returned to the stage in the play Your Song, co-produced by KOKO Entertainment and Echo.Co Studio, where she played the lead role of Chang Yi-Nan in a story inspired by her own family history.

After two years of immersing herself in various forms of creative work and performance, she is set to release her second full-length Taiwanese album, Moon Phases, in 2025. Boldly experimenting with fast-paced electronic arrangements, the album blends traditional elements with contemporary innovation—challenging perceptions of Taiwanese pop music and offering audiences a wholly original listening experience.
